Overview

If you want to upload new products from your Prestashop catalog to Sharpei, you have to synchronize them from the Sharpei Connect module as you did in the first time you configured the module.

Keep in mind that if you enabled the 'Create Product' toggle in the module during the first configuration, every time you update a product in Prestashop that was not previously in Sharpei, it will automatically upload it, so there's no need to manually sync.

Also, please remember that once you edit a product in Prestashop that is already in Sharpei, it will automatically update in Sharpei, except for some specific cases that we will discuss later in this article.

Upload new products to Sharpei

  1. Go to the Sharpei Connect module

2. Choose the way in which you want to add your products

  • Synchronize products in bulk:

Select your products and click on bulk actions.

Once you've selected your products, click on 'sync selected'.

  • Synchronize a single product:

Choose the product you want and click on the 'Sync' button on its right.

Add or update a Standard Product

If you have a standard product in Prestashop that you want to upload to Sharpei, when you synchronize it, a default variant will be created with the same name and ID of the product in Sharpei.

If you update the products you already have uploaded in Sharpei, the changes you make will be reflected automatically except in 2 cases.

In these cases, you'll have to give it a manual synchronization to the product within the module in Prestashop. These are the cases in which you'd have to do this manual sync:

  • Stock changes to 0:

If you edit the stock of a product in Prestashop that exists in Sharpei to 0, both the default variant and the product in Sharpei will be set to Draft status.

It is necessary that after changing the stock to 0, you go to the module, search for the product and click on the 'Sync' button.

  • Change the status of the product to Offline in Prestashop:

If you change the status of your product in Prestashop to Offline, you must go to the Sharpei Connect module and click on the Sync button of the product you just deactivated.

This will set both the default variant and the product in Sharpei to Inactive status.

🚨 If you want to change from a Standard Product to a Product with Combinations in Prestashop and then synchronize it with Sharpei, you need to speak to us first

Add or update a Product with Combinations

When you synchronize a product with combinations from Prestashop, in Sharpei the combinations will be created in the variants section, along with their attributes, price and images.

If you update the combinations you already have uploaded to Sharpei, the changes you make will be reflected automatically, except in these two cases:

  • Deleting a combination in Prestashop:

When deleting a combination in Prestahop, be sure to 'Sync' the product from the module, this way the variant in Sharpei will be set to a Inactive status.

  • Change the status of the product to Offline in Prestashop:

As with the Standard product, if you put a product with combinations as offline in Prestashop, make sure to give it a sync from the module. This way product and variants will be put in Inactive in Sharpei.

Edge cases:

We've identified some edge cases that can cause some failures in the update of products with combinations.

These are some of them:

  • Add and eliminate combinations at the same time:

Avoid adding and eliminating combinations at the same time during the same edit, because it could cause some issues when updating the product.

  • Add or eliminate combinations at the same time

Assign Selling Plans to your product variants in Sharpei

Whether you have a default variant or you have uploaded combinations to Sharpei, it is necessary to assign a Selling Plan to the variants in order for the rental button to appear on your website.

Below you'll be able to find the Selling Plans section and also the article on how to add a Selling Plan to a variants:
