When it comes to rental and subscription services, there's no one-size-fits-all approach. Sharpei gives you the possibility of offering different types of rentals. You can offer more than one at the same time, and different types of rentals for the different products you have:

  • Daily rentals: The client chooses how many days they want to rent the product for, the easiest way of doing this is using a calendar view. The payment should be upfront, and the client must wait for the rental period to finish in order to return the product.

  • Monthly rentals: The client chooses how many months they want to rent the product for. In this case, the easiest way of doing this is using a month selector. The most common plans are 1, 3, 6, 12 & 24. The payments are usually done monthly, and the client must wait for the rental period to finish in order to return the product.

  • Monthly subscriptions: The only difference with a monthly rental is that the client will be able to return the product anytime.

  • Lease-to-own: Works exactly like a monthly rental, the difference is that at the end of the process the client would have the option to either buy the item with a discount or return the object.

  • Try-before-buy: The client will be able to try the product for a limited period of time, we recommend that this does not exceed 30 days. After that the client can decide either to purchase the product and keep it or return it (we recommend to make them pay a fee as if they would have rented the item for a month if they decide to return it).

  • Second-hand reselling: Finally, if you no longer want to rent a product, you can put it up for sale as a second-hand product directly from your website:

In total, Sharpei has six different ways of implementing into your store.
