What is a partner?

A partner is any external organization Sharpei transacts with on your behalf. Each partner has a type that tells the AI how to talk to them:

A partner is an organization. The actual people at that org who send and receive emails are stored as representatives — name, email, phone, title, primary flag.

Why this matters: AI counterparty detection

When an inbound email arrives, Sharpei matches the sender's email against your representatives table. If we find a match, the AI knows:

  1. Who sent it (the rep)
  2. What kind of counterparty they are (lender / broker / vendor)
  3. Which org they belong to

That lets the AI route the message correctly — broker replies don't get mixed up with applicant questions, and lender pricing never gets cc'd to the wrong party.

The correlation tracker ("cookie")

When you shop a deal to multiple lenders at once, each lender gets a unique correlation token stamped into the email subject — looks like [SHRP-a3f9k2x1]. When that lender replies, the inbound poller extracts the token and routes the reply back to that specific application × lender thread. No mixing. No misrouting. Even if the lender forwards the email or breaks the reply chain, the token in the subject keeps the conversation correctly grouped.
